A hernia occurs when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakened muscle or surrounding tissue wall. A hernia usually develops between your chest and hips. In many cases, it causes no or very few symptoms, although you may notice a swelling or lump in your tummy (abdomen) or groin.

One day I noticed that something was bulging out above my umbilicus. As I am overweight, I was told that it was not operable and that there was a high risk. In three years, no matter how hard I tried to take care of myself, I developed a scarred hernia bump the size of my fist. Surgery became unavoidable, but then I started coughing and getting worse as the hernia got bigger and bigger, I was very scared of the surgery as complications were expected. The anesthetist refused to give me an anesthesia because he was afraid that the vocal cord and laryngitis would cause phlegm to drain into my lungs. I then went to the salt therapy center in my town, where my cough started to go away, but more importantly, it was here that I first heard about noni. When I had my second bottle, the doctor declared me operable. I was very scared of surgery as my legs are very varicose and this carries the risk of thrombosis, and the doctor diagnosed arthritis in both my knees a year ago. I should add that I was 122 kg and I was expecting a difficult wound healing because of the thick fatty tissue. I was operated on on  a Tuesday at noon, in the evening I was drinking the noni again. On Thursday, at the bandaging, the doctor was amazed at how nicely my wound was healing, and I was waiting for visitors in the courtyard, I felt so good. It was then that I realized that the leg pain I had had for over a year ago was gone, my back had receded. I was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning. When I went back for stitch removal a week after the operation, I was told that my wound had healed perfectly and that I could do anything except lifting, but only gradually. It's been a month since the operation, I've been drinking the noni ever since, and now my wound looks as if it had been operated on a year ago. I'm feeling better too, I've been working for a week now.
